Lou Amari’s at night: a green awning over warm-lit windows, a glowing script sign and brick façade on Damen Avenue

Lou Amari’s · Chicago

Every neighborhood deserves an Italian family.

Scratch-made Italian-American classics, strong drinks and the kind of hospitality that makes a table feel like yours.

The kind of place you come back to.

Lou Amari’s is built around the restaurants we grew up loving: a warm room, a full table, a bartender who knows the classics and food that never needs an introduction. We make the pastas, sauces, meatballs and desserts in-house, pour a proper drink and take care of dinner the way it should be done.

From the kitchen

Classics made from scratch, every day.

Sunday gravy that takes its time. Hand-rolled meatballs. Rigatoni alla vodka. Chicken parm with the edges crisp and the center tender. Tiramisu made in-house. This is familiar food made with enough care to remind you why it became classic in the first place.
